Tour Rider Privacy Policy
Last Updated: February 3, 2026
At Tour Rider, your privacy and trust are paramount. We are committed to complete transparency regarding how we interact with your personal and financial data.
🚨 Important Notice Regarding Limited Use (Google API)
Tour Rider’s use and transfer of information received from Google APIs will adhere to the Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements.
We use restricted data exclusively to provide core functionality: creating events in your Google Calendar and reading your existing event titles and times to automatically sync "block dates" on our platform. We do not use this data for any other purpose.
You can review the full policy here: Google API Services User Data Policy
1. Google Calendar Integration and Data Access
Our application uses the Google Calendar API to facilitate seamless scheduling and to ensure your availability on the Tour Rider platform is always accurate.
Permissions We Request (Scopes):
| Google Scope (Permission) |
Purpose |
https://www.googleapis.com/auth/calendar.events |
To create, edit, and delete events on the calendars you select. This allows our app to place a new booking on your schedule. |
https://www.googleapis.com/auth/calendar.readonly |
To view events on your calendar. This allows our app to identify existing busy slots and automatically block those dates on our platform for you. |
2. Calendar Data Collection and Use
To help you manage your availability, our platform synchronizes with your calendar to identify existing commitments and prevent double-bookings.
- Block Dates: We retrieve the date, time, and event title from your calendar. This allows us to mark those periods as "Unavailable" on our platform and show you which specific event is causing the block within your dashboard.
- Data Minimization: We do not collect or store guest lists, locations, meeting links, or private descriptions from your calendar events.
- Data Restriction: No data retrieved from your Google Calendar—including your event titles—is ever sold, shared with third parties, or used for advertising/marketing.
3. Payment Processing and Financial Data
We prioritize the security of your financial information by partnering with leading, secure payment processors.
- No Storage of Card Data: Tour Rider does not store or process your full credit card number, CVV code, or any other sensitive payment card information.
- Payment Processors: All payment transactions are securely handled by your chosen third-party payment provider: Square Payments API or PayPal Services.
- Processor Responsibility: When you enter payment details, you are submitting them directly to Square or PayPal. Their respective privacy policies govern the collection and use of that information. We receive only a confirmation or transaction token necessary to finalize your booking.
4. General Data Storage and Limitation (Non-Google)
We operate under a strict policy of data minimization for all user data.
- Limited Storage: We only store event titles and timestamps from your Google Calendar to provide the core booking-sync service. This data is kept only as long as the event remains on your calendar or until you disconnect the service.
- No Access to Other Google Data: We do not request, access, or interact with any other Google services, including Gmail, Contacts, Drive, or User Profile information (beyond a basic ID to link your account).
- Data Use Limitation: All data accessed through the Google API is used exclusively to manage your schedule on Tour Rider. We do not use this data to build profiles, serve ads, or generate credit scores.
5. Data Retention and Deletion
We retain booking data for the minimum period necessary to comply with legal, tax, and accounting requirements. Beyond that period, we either delete or anonymize the data.
- Google Data: If you choose to disconnect your Google Calendar from Tour Rider, we will immediately cease reading your calendar data and remove the associated block dates and titles from our active sync.
- Revoking Access: You can revoke our access to your Google Calendar at any time by visiting your Google Account permissions page: Google Account Permissions.
